Public Land near Richmond (southwest Houston)?

Is there any type II public land near Richmond for hogs? Or is Sam Houston the nearest? It is roughly 100 miles each way to Huntsville.

Theres some closer, there were some post here about hunting the trinity river bottom right outside of houston, do a little online research, the internet is a great tool.

Thanks I will look in to Trinity. I love the internet for a lot of things, but I had yet to find a map of the public lands on line and my not knowing where in the state places are does not help my searching.

Hey chester, have you checked out TPWD?

I have check out TPWD website and I have not found it that helpful. I have heard that when you buy the license that they have a good book with maps, but I have not put down the $48 to get it yet.
