Further update; I had heard a snipit on the radio about cheating on his taxes. It appears it's even deeper than that. Allegedly, he tried to extort Nike for millions of dollars. He also misappropriated clients settlement money.

He claims he has dirt on Nike.

Goes to the office of Nike's lawyers to offer some kind of "settlement agreement" of $1.5 MM for his client (co-conspirator) and also agree to retain him (Avenatti) and co-conspirator to conduct an "internal investigation" for which they would be paid somewhere between $15 MM - $25 MM!!!

The FBI shows up and arrests him!
