Savage storm or howa

Lucky me I found some x mass gift cards in a drawer and see a new rifle buy soon
Looking today I found two in my budget ( $500 + some Father’s Day $)
1. A howa 6.5 CM
2. A savage storm 6.5-284 Norma

Both have same scope and such, anyone have any suggestions on the coin toss ?
I Like 6.5-284 as a caliber, but if howa is a superior rifle?
Know zero about howa or apex storm

Neither rifle make is superior over the other. Depends which one you want. Some people say the Savage is ugly. Depends on which one you pick.

They are both about the same quality wise. I'm a savage guy, but the new 110s (not the budget guns) are just plain cheap looking with that sci fi stock. A family member has an older Howa that shoots pretty well.

My Howa 6.5 CM is a solid 1/2" shooter.

I'm a fan of 6.5x284 if you're gonna stretch it out hunting 400+ yds. If not then 6.5 CM due to plentiful factory ammo for normal range hunting.
