Watch the video. It isn’t a rubber-like substance and the blasting didn’t have any trouble taking it off. Educate yourself before commenting.

They are based in Taylor but are mobile

Old childhood buddy! Paint shop quoted me $8500 to repaint my excursion.

So your YouTube certified with no hands on experience and you want to talk down to someone that’s actually in the blasting business.

              Makes sense I guess....

                    No guessing to it.
When you have a area to blast that's in the middle of area you don't want blasted, guess what, you put something rubbery over it to protect it.
                    Sandblasting stencil(rubber) or similar.
Now with aluminum oxide or similar, you will eventually burn through it, but it takes a lonnng time.
Not sure what you're not understanding...

I got quoted 400 to strip the whole truck to bare metal, seems fair!

Now, bedliner is another story. I got a quote today for 7k to do the whole truck in super liner. That seems insane! I’m leaning more towards a “decent” paint job. Any recommendations on a paint shop around the greater Austin area that won’t cost an arm and a leg?

Eagle Painting in Liberty Hill. Not the best paint job but probably best price. They have done a couple projects for me and they were good enough but their price was the best any where.

Definitely going to give them a call for a quote!

Look up KKSPRAY2020 on Facebook. I have not seen his work in person but it looks good in the pictures. I have been looking at having my ranch truck sprayed and his quote was cheaper than paint.

The first thing that I would try to remove the old bedliner is a good pressure washer.
