Shower activity across a lot of the gulf. How does TX not end up with rain from this, even on the current track?

My daughters softball team is slated to play in Gulf Shores next week. We were going to leave Saturday morning, but that aint happening. I toyed with the idea of leaving early tomorrow morning, but I think that would put us on the dirty side of the storm somewhere along I-10. Thats not something I want to risk with the family.
I am looking at leaving Sunday or even early Monday after the storm has passed. Their first game isnt until Tuesday. It sucks that we will miss a few days of vacation, but family safety is imperative.

I’m thinking of leaving sooner. I’ve got someone with a medical condition that I don’t want to get stuck on the road with.
Does anyone know if you have to go North?
I was worried they might have had more rain and road issues in some of those areas?
Crazy thing is it’s not even rained much here and was out deep sea fishing yesterday.
Not sure, but our kinfolk in Slidell have told us they’re under a mandatory evacuation. Southern highways are gonna be busy.
