    Firewood sales question/options

Do yall think it's right for folks to sell firewood by the piece or bundle and not to offer it by the cord or fraction of a cord?
I know its much more profitable to see piecemeal but when we have a situation like we have now, it just seems like price qoughing.
I'm interested in hearing y'alls thoughts.

I have no problem with it. A lot of people can’t transport much more than a few bundles much less 1/2 a cord or more. Also, I am overall fine with free market.

I think that’s how some do it in the bigger cities. I called a few places a couple of weeks ago and some only sold it by the stick. Show up with cash and they made a deal on a 1/4 or 1/2 cord.

I offered free wood a while back and no one took it so let them get what they can get.

I understand that about the transportation and I'm down with the free market also. My problem is that all of a sudden no one wants to sell it by the cord or fraction of a cord.
You could spend a hundred bucks and only get a couple of days worth of fuel.
I bought a half cord for a $100 right before the snow hit.

Personally I would never buy firewood like that, but if there is a market and a guy can make a better margin, then more power to him

Curious what a 1/4 or 1/2 cord cost.

I also do not think most folks actually know how much a 1/4, 1/2 and full cord are

Full cord is 4x4x8 with 20in logs.
                        I paid $100 for a 1/2 cord last Saturday

Dang yall got some good deals on a half cord, I paid 170 last week. Filled up an 8ft bed with a toolbox in it. So roughly 6ft bed a little over the top.

Edit: or I just got a bad deal

A full cord is 4x4x8, that is a face cord or Rick cord
