New Telescope- what to look for?

The 9yo is excited but it looks like the moon doesn't rise until late. Any suggestions for other targets right now?

Any recommended websites to put in your location and see what's best viewed on a given day and time?

I highly recommend the SkyView app. You can “point” at an object in the sky from your phone or a tablet and it will identify it for you. It has helped me a bunch.

The skyline.com does what you asked for. Enter location and it gives you a list of visible objects…
