Turn off laptop. As soon as you turn back on press f8 once a second until it takes you to safe mode. You should be able to go back to display settings

I got into safe mode, Thank you! The second monitor is not recognized at all now. The laptop screen now shows to in the on position. Should I now shut it down and see if turns on correctly or is there something else I need to check or perform?

Did you ever get things figured out? If not, PM me and I might be able to walk you through the issue.

We couldn’t do anything with it. She took it in to work. The IT dept couldn’t get it going either but they did get her files off of it and gave her a new machine.
