My friend Todd (Slew) mentioned going down and chasing "ocean perch" early this year. Then Oscar (Landrover) posted pics of his trip and that threw Todd over the edge. He texted me and said he was working on getting a trip set up and would I like to go.
So Todd, his dad and I secured a 2 day trip and before we knew it the time had come to make our way down to Buras Louisiana
Our first Paradise experience was the food.
Bernie the cook (said he was not a chef but he could pass for one) served up NY strips, sautéed zucchini and mushrooms, and some kind of pasta with crab (could have made a meal out of that) the first night
0430 came early, nice breakfast burrito and off to launch the boat into the Mississippi
The action started pretty quick with trout and redfish. By the time we were done for the day we had boated a nice bunch of reds, trout, sheepshead and a lonely flounder
Todd had the best red of the trip, 33-34"
I had a good one on but the trolling motor separated us
More good food
The second day fishing was great again.
My big fish of the trip was this beast, thought I had me a nice red
Anyone who is considering making this trip can be assured that it is worth the money. The fishing is great but the total experience was awesome. Anthony runs a great place and his crew is prepared to make it a trip you will not soon forget.
We are already talking about our next trip
Saw something that I never have before and may never see again. Did not come out when I tried to take a picture. There was a rainbow out in front of us and it looked like it had been folded at the horizon and met at the bow of the boat.
