Thieves got me

Truck got broken into and ransacked. I don’t ever keep guns in there, but for some reason I didn’t take my Yildiz over/under out because we were going down south again this weekend (my fault). Windows are tinted dark and it was buried by other stuff on the floorboard so I know it wasn’t what they were targeting. They just got lucky and found it. Everything in my hunting bag was scattered everywhere. Cop said this was their 6th break in call today. Kids need to get jobs instead of taking what people work hard for.
I bought this gun from someone here and never wrote down the serial number. Can’t remember his name- Jason something I think. If you’re reading this and have the serial number, that could be helpful.

you go back and check your pms? might still have his info here. you could also run a search for yildiz, or even scroll back through your old posts if you remember the general time you bought it. shouldn't be too hard to figure out who you bought it from. and that sucks about your truck

Good luck. I lost a pistol under very similar circumstances last year. We had the pos thieves on the neighbors camera. The pictures only help if they are in the system. Williamson county sheriffs said in our case the gangs send kids out to the burbs looking for guns that can’t be traced to them. Kids get caught and they are back at it in 12 hours.

Be careful what you wish for. A guy I know used a licensed, concealed hand gun and killed a guy he caught in his car. He was finally acquitted after 4 years and a ton of money.

100% agree we under punish thieves, but as long as your not in my home or threatening life I’m not sure I want to live with killing a HS aged person.

The kids we caught on camera stealing my gun were 15 yo max. I’d have had no choice but to shoot (other than get shot-hard pass)if they pointed that gun at me because I don’t keep any self defense weapon outside a safe with out 1 in the pipe. I want them caught, but not by me for a car burglary.

They dumped out all my hunting bags and went through the console, glove box, and every seat pocket in the truck. Only thing they took was the gun. They left my bino’s which were worth more than the gun, and all my skinning knives. Their target was guns.

My brother-in-law had his truck broken into a while back, in a hotel parking lot. They ignored the $20 in cash in the cupholder, it was still there, they had rummaged through everything. Fortunately he had his handgun with him in the hotel room. Several vehicles had been hit in the lot, and apparently at a couple of other hotels along the highway as well the same night. LEO responding said that the majority of vehicles that hit were pickup trucks, as the perps think their odds of finding a gun are higher.

There were 2 cans on the ground that came outta my hunting bag. I can’t believe it either! I woulda just left the gun and just go eat a gourmet meal with those. There’s one, the other is way under the truck

Same experience I had when my truck was ransacked. The police report is just for insurance purposes any more.
But at least in our neighborhood they put out a night patrol officer on bikes and the trouble stopped.
