I’m about tired of it this year. This is my fourth year on the Mississippi coast and it’s been a spicy one.

How are you liking it down there, hurricanes excluded ?? We are looking at Florida panhandle, Texas property taxes are crazy and not paying this when retired.

Mississippi and the Florida panhandle are ENTIRELY different things. That being said, I wouldn’t hesitate to move to the Florida panhandle. Beautiful beaches good food, and everybody seems to be pretty relaxed. Mississippi in itself isn’t all that great. Outside of the few good friends that I’ve made here, I probably wouldn’t come back.

Which is what I expected of there......I know people where we are looking....only thing I liked about Mississippi was the duck hunting but that's inland.....

What the update on this from the Green Screen? I’m supposed to be heading to Winnie in an hour, and I didn’t even realize a hurricane was in the gulf until an hour ago. Things you take for granted living in the panhandle!

I don’t think you will have any worries in Winnie other than rain

I'm in Beaumont and I haven't hardly heard a peep about this one. You'll be fine in Winnie for sure.

For future reference if you ever have to come back this way, Space City Weather has awesome forecasts for Houston/Galveston. I trust them as much as the TBH guys, and they have an update every morning.

Bumping a old thread but anyone been following the beast that’s about to wipe Nicaragua off the map??? Gust over 200 mph! And a pressure below 920....

If I’m not mistaken they just had a cat 3/4 a couple weeks ago also?

Absolutely awful for those folks

Hurricane Iota. I’ve been following Cat 5 earlier and downgraded to Cat 4 155 mph winds. Beast of a storm

Will be interesting to see what becomes of it. Models 10 days ago picked up on a hurricane and knocking on the door of the texas coast by early thanksgiving week

Lotta folks in Nicaragua are gonna be hurting after it passes. Very poor country with many living in plywood and cardboard already. Praying for them.

Even though I know it’s going to be, I sure hope it isn’t terrible.

I’ve got family all over Nicaragua, but at least they’re on the pacific side. Going to be a lot of damage to the country.
