    DIY Euro base

    I decided this year to do my own euro mounts. It was actually easier than I expected. Me and a buddy did several. Once done, I realized I need some bases to mount them on.

    I was at the lease last weekend and drove around looking for the right shaped wood to use. I found a few and after a little work with the chain saw, here are the results:

          Looks like you did find the right wood for the euro mount. A rough, “character” type piece of wood with that color is a real good match for the mount. Good job.

            2nd mount

            Thanks guys. Here is mount #2. I need to do an antelope and an Aoudad too. Looking for the right log for those. I have no idea why these pics post sideways??

                  Those look good. Aoudad are hard because their horns swoop back so far. Make sure you find something to give you plenty of clearance.
