Qurstion about sighting in an iron sighted Remington Model 760

So i bought a Remington Model 760, 30-06, pump from a fellow TBH brother. Iron sighted. Bought it to use as a truck gun. Finally had a chance to shoot it this weekend. It shoots consistently low and to the right at about 50 yards. Roughly 2.5" low and 2.5" right. I'm assuming i need to raise the rear sight and slide it a little to the right. Is that correct? Please advise. Thanks so much.

Just like your bow. Chase the shot with your front sight. Move rear sight opposite. Move rear sight up an left.

Thank you. I have a history of getting it backwards.

My dads first rifle was a 760. A .257 Roberts
But we kept a low power scope and it shot well.
        Good luck.
