Prayers for a family needed

I was called to the scene of a pretty horrific suicide today. It was a teenage boy in High School. The Mom and Grandma, who lived there with the young man were not home when it happened. He apparently was a very emotionally disturbed young man with many issues. Obviously, all of the family who arrived were totally devastated. I tried to comfort them as much as possible and prayed with them but they will need continued prayers after this horrible loss. The mother is an unbeliever but was very receptive as I spoke to her and prayed with her. Please, as you lift this family up, pray specifically for this mom... that God would use this terrible circumstance to reveal Himself to her. Thanks

Been there, done that. I can tell you from experience first hand that there is no pain this side of death worse! This mom and the family will need the Lord to get through this. Friends and other family members can do a lot, but a wound like this does not heal on its own. It takes Divine intervention to heal that kind of broken heart!


Lord it is with broken hearts that we come to You this evening upon seeing the news of the death of this young man. We do not know the details and at this point it doesn't really matter. What matters Lord is that You guide our brother Josh to deliver the Gospel to this mother and other family members. Through Your Holy Spirit break her heart and guide her to surrender. Lord convict her that she comes to the saving Grace of Your Son Jesus Christ. He is the only one capable of healing her broken heart. In due time Lord help her heal and ease her grief and sorrow and turn the wounds to her heart into scars that allows healing evidence. This will allow her to move toward joy once again in her life. Protect her and draw her near. In the name of Jesus we ask and Pray, Amen.
