    Southeast Oklahoma Food Plots

Wanted to reach out and ask those that hunt in Southeast Ok and put plots in what you have the best luck planting? Just wanted to try and narrow down the best options spring and particularly fall. Thanks in advance.

Not much grows here, wheat. Had good luck with lab lab. Have to really watch your soil samples, follow why they call for. And it’s a every year thing. Summer crops get flooded out by spring rains and winter crops die of drought from lack of fall rain.

Winter rye is your best friend when it comes to adapting to about any condition for fall planting. It will make when other plants like wheat and oats fail.

I know a couple guys that hunt over wheat and winter rye every year in South-Central OK and have for a long time. They swear that mixing the two reduces the effects of pests and is great for soil composition.
