I assume by "free range" you mean "low fence" (it was hard to tell from your post)? Shooting an exotic over a feeder with a rifle usually doesn't strike me as "free range." Not attempting to diminish your accomplishment - just legitimately curious.

Free range is low fence.

Last night we tried out our first elk—a big chunk of backstrap cooked on the cast iron and seasoned with Hardcore Carnivore Black. It came out phenomenal.
