An older gentleman I know sells fresh seafood here in kerrville. He drives down to Sabine Lake area and picks it up. He has a box truck to keep everything fresh. Takes orders during crawfish season etc. Does pretty well I believe as fresh seafood is not readily available here. He also sells Fredricksburg peaches during season as well.

After my Dad retired he had a gig delivering dead people from the hospital to the funeral home. People were dying for his delivery service.

There is an older gentlemen near us that details cars at his shop at his house. He is a neat freak and does quite well with it. Window cleaning residential one story homes is pretty lucrative as well!

Quietly logs out. Exes out browser and subtly powers down phone. Nonchalantly opens window . Surveys scene and revels in the scenery. Chunks phone into oncoming traffic.

My dad became a part-time butcher at HEB after he retired. Made good money until he accidentally backed into a meat grinder. I guess you could say he got a little behind in his work.

I'm not to that stage yet (but closer all the time). However, in our business and in talking to some others who own rental houses, it is extremely difficult to find reliable handymen. Granted, if you are in 'retirement', you may not want to get fully booked up for weeks at a time. But we have found that anytime we find someone halfway competent and reasonable, they end up going dark on us when we try to contact them again. I get the same reaction from rental property guys needing occasional help.
                  So, there's you an opportunity.

My dad was a diesel mechanic by trade but when he retired he picked up a gig answering small engine repair questions online for ask.com . At first it was just something for him to do from his recliner while watching NASCAR and he had a goal of making $100 a day. Fast forward to 4 years down the road and now he is making more now answering peoples mechanic questions that he did when he was a service manager!

You are on a roll! I hope he did’t get fired due to playing with the pickle slicer!

I've heard there's money to be made selling Viagra in old folks homes.

You could be a Merkin salesman. Although its kind of a niche market these days.

I ve thought about getting a small dump truck and skid steer and doing driveways and such for folks.
Also thought about going to taxidermy school.
