Can Bucks Loose Velvet in 24 Hours?

Can a buck loose all of his velvet in 24 hours?

Like completely gone without any residual pieces hanging?

No visible blood on the horns?

A buck I’m watching was full velvet yesterday and today I think may be Sams buck but can’t tell because this buck has ZERO velvet or any pieces or blood on his antlers now.

Might be another thick similar Genetics?

    What green screen say?

Yep. I was on a hunt in Wisconsin last September. One morning a buck was full velvet; next morning clean. Wish I had shot him in velvet!

Yes for sure. From what I’ve seen, more like in the few hours range.

Saw one Friday night full velvet & he came out last evening totally clean. I was surprised but 99% sure it was the same deer.

I watched a 2 1/2 year old 8 point one time completely strip his velvet in about 2 hours. He rubbed his little rack in some mesquite brush with amazing dexterity. Horns after about 2 hours of rubbing and scraping the ground were white with very little blood. He ate every tiny piece of that velvet as it came off... one of the most amazing things in nature that I'd ever witnessed and still is to this day. That was probably 15-20 years ago...
