How much crushed concrete do I need...

...to make a flat 12' wide road on clay soil that's 100-130 yards long? How much will it compress into the soil? How thick should I make it?

You could make it on 2 inches but I would recommend 4 inches.

      I'd say 3 trucks / 100'. Just a guess

I think 50-60 cubic yards would be close. 4-5"

Roughly 30 tons/24 cubic yards should cover three to four inches thick 12 feet wide 130 long

My driveway at the dairy is about 150 yards. I blade it’s with a 12’ drag blade and can top it 2”ish and fill pot holes with 3 belly dumps of crushed concrete. 2” don’t compress much. 4” obviously will more

If a private drive with no heavy equipment or loaded 18 wheelers 2” will last a long time a pack better than 4” at one time

                  12 wide x 130 yards long x 4" thick=57.7 cubic yards

1 cubic yard will cover 81 sq ft 4" thick

A full 18 wheeler will be about perfect. How ever much that is

One problem with 4” at once will be smash out vs compression. Your 12’ road will be 14’ with wagon trails in it. I’d seriously go about 2” and pack until it needs repair then 2” again

Put down some geotex fabric first it'll help hugely on how much it presses in the clay and prevent the wagon trails.

Typically you buy base or crusher concrete by the ton not by the yard. 4”x12’x390’ = 57.7 yards or about 80 tons
