    Spring is Coming

    Hello GS,

With spring almost here, are there any places to crappie fish and reasonable Turkey hunts around San Antonio?

Your best bet for crappie near San Antonio is Choke Canyon. You may find some up in the trees on the upper end of Canyon Lake. Crappie in Granger Lake, too.

We will have to make it through the polar vortex before we can think about spring

Ah Spring, check back in May up here.
June is usually last big snow.
Ice fishing for a while yet up this way.

Rayburn can be great for crappie when the time is right!

I got a buddy that drives from Wichita Falls to choke canyon every year to crappie fish. It must be pretty good for that! Fork is a heck of a lot closer!

I have a friend that lived on canyon lake and the crappie fishing was really good.

It blows my mind to think of getting snow in June!

Usually a heavy wet dumping of 8-10 inches. Hard on trees, etc.
Heck we 've had July snow up in mountains.

Good luck with the spring fishing folks !

For shear numbers, Rayburn is great for crappie all the time.
