Any dove flying around Quanah yet?

I just got back from Crowell (Foard co.), and we saw a lot of dove. Jumped some quail also.

I was just up in this area and can report the same. Decent dove numbers and a handful of quail.

Saw a few in truscott This weekend. Just a little south of you

Where you do you hunt around Truscott? We lease from the Circle Bar and the camp house is right there just south of Truscott.

i was on 7600 acre pasture on the Circle Bar.This was back in 2011 and the drought really took a toll on the deer then.

It's still to early to get much of an idea on where to go for birds, dove season is like presidential elections, they have "the October surprise"- dove season has the "late August/early September tropical rain event"! I've been showing up for dove season over 50 years, haven't missed the rain but a few times and when I do it's been so dry there's no doves anyway.
Dang I'm depressing myself, my have go scouting just to improve my outlook.

Saw some flying just south of Quanah last weekend. And a few north of town as well . Heard there was a fire somewhere around Quanah today .
