    My first deer, like ever

And it only took 32 years haha. The spike came in around 10 am shortly after another spike, and it immediately chased off a doe with two fawns. I used the distraction to ready the crossbow. He came to a stop presenting broadside at 15 yards. I took a breath to steady my aim and pulled the trigger.

He just kind of flinched and then ran, but caught the barbed wire on the way out. I lost sight of him pretty quick with all the brush around but heard him running north before curling west, and then it sounded like it was flailing or ran through a bush or something. At first I thought I missed but the bolt was laying pretty much where I'd aimed and it was bright red with blood.

The blood trail was extremely light and it took 4 of us about 45 minutes to track it down. The shot was a pass through both lungs, a little high on the entry side and it ran about 200 yards. He was 100 lbs on the dot.
