Foam Board Insulation

Thinking to use this to insulate the roof of a 12x20 cabin. If you have done so, did you/would you use 1/2" or 1"?

I just bought a small portable building/cabin and it has 1/2 on the ceiling. Not sure how much good it does but it’s better than nothing I’m sure

1/2" has about R3 value. 1" about R6. If you have 2x6 rafters you could batt the rafter space and get R19.

As said above, something is better than nothing.

1” and caulk all the seems and outlets

Used 1" with Foam Board Adhesive. Put Bubble wrap insulation over it and stapled to the Rafters.

Installed an exhaust fan on a timer switch to bring in fresh air while we're not there .. Avoids those mold issues
