My son is expressing some interest in hunting with me. I want to buy him some camo. What is the best time of year to stock up? And where should I shop?

We are interested in both regular camo & blaze orange for public land.

Right about now Walmart usually has realtree stuff marked way down trying to clear it out.

Academy will start their annual camo clearance very soon, if it hasn't already ready done so. They carry youth clothing too. Some of it will be below 50% off.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

Now is one of the best times. Turkey and fishing stuff is moving in, big game hunting stuff needs to go.

He is probably a large and will be XL before long. He's a teenager and plays football. We are going to get back into hunting by going for turkeys this spring on public land. Do I have to wear blaze orange to hunt turkeys on public land? Looked like what I saw said turkey season is "no orange required" due to the excellent eyesight of the turkeys?

My plan is to make the most of whatever season we have time/opportunity to go so for me, the hunting plan is year-round!

Academy is 50% off. A few weekends ago I bought my son some blaze orange gear, thermals, and some cheap Magellan camo clothes. Cheap stuff is fine for him since he's still growing.

Camo at Academy is 65% off as of last Friday. There was not much left though at the one on Northwest Hwy here in Dallas.
