What grease to use on hunting chair?

I’ve got a new tripod that makes a little noise when the chair is turned. Is there a preferred grease or lubricant to use? I’m concerned that deer will smell it. Is this even an issue or am I over thinking this? I don’t have any pics of the chair, but it’s the kind that slides over the top of a post. There is a nylon cap on the post where the seat sits on it.

I shot a little wd40 on mine to get be by for a while and deer had no reaction so I'd guess it makes no difference what you use

Lard, Crisco, peanut or canola oil.

        Not wd40.

I wouldn't worry about it. They will be adjusted to the smell in no time.

I use 3 in 1 lock dry lube on just about everything that squeaks. It’s great for chairs and door hinges and comes in a small aerosol can.

I sprayed mine with scent killer spray, it was all I had and it worked like a champ, at least for that hunt.

                  WD-40 is for displacing water.

White lithium. No smell, stays put, temp stable.

Put half a tube of high temp bearing grease on ours. Works great

Any grease is better than no grease.
