    45.8lb blue cat - Inks Lake record

    The quarantine has been rough, but we were lucky enough that my folks had a reservation at Inks Lake State Park for a couple of weeks in March. The fishing has been really good, especially for catfish and crappie.

    On one of the runs on 3/28, the new lake record was on one of the six juglines that were out. My pops and uncle were lucky enough to get it landed, to a certified scale, and released. It weighed in at 45.8lbs, breaking the old record of of 39.4lbs. It has been a lot of fun, and we're looking forward to hammering the yellow cats in the coming weeks on LBJ!

                Funny enough, right off the fishing pier. Caught enough there to not really look for them anywhere else.

                            I know quite a few have shut down recently, but per Inks's website right now:

                            You must buy your day passes and camping permits online before your visit, as we are not taking payments on-site at this time.

                            The following sites are closed through April 30, 2020:

                            * Primitive campsites

                            Campers with affected reservations will be notified about refunds.

                            Check here for updates or contact the park for more information.

                            Capacity Closures
                            We have a very high volume of visitors on weekends, holidays and school breaks. We close when we reach capacity. Customers with camping reservations will be able to enter during these closures."
