Anything I need to know or any advice I need to
Make the process go as smoothly as possible??
Is the Silencer Shop a solid choice still?
I'm in the Houston area..

I bought one in mid-December. Of course, Christmas and New Years was in there, but the ATF cashed the check on 1/9/21. silencer shop's end seemed to go as expected. Now the wait for ATF processing.
I'm sweating it a little because I expect the politicians to try to do as much as they can as fast as they can...course, politicians don't do much besides talk, but its the ones behind the curtain pulling the strings that worry me.

Yes and go to a dealer that has a kiosk for the fingerprints.

It’s still a 250-300 day wait but e-filing is still the fastest for Form 4.

I went to Payne Bros in Katy. They have a kiosk and made the process very simple.

sorry OP to derail your post. A local SS dealer will get you taken care of and the process is super easy. If you have specific questions ask away.

If you're ever filled out a 4473, or any number of other things including posting on an internet gun forum lol you're already on "a list" and owning NFA items does NOT forfeit your 4th amendment rights.

I purchased my trust yesterday through the Trust Guru
In Austin.. Duane at Waymore Silencers made everything
Simple to understand and I'll be going there Hopefully by Saturday to complete the process.. Hes got limited inventory
But I dont have a Budget so there's a few good options waiting
For me , all I'm concerned with is decibel reduction... Thanks for all of the input... If anyone wants to look at his website

I purchased the one shot individual trust using the kiosk at the silencer shop in Leander Tx. The manufacturer of my silencer recommended using the kiosk system to speed up the process.

What are you planning to do with the can? Do you own a belt fed or a full auto? Also, surefire does a lot of things very well but suppressor qd's isn't one of them imo.

Dead Air Nomad would be my vote. Standard if it will be run on some AR’s as well, probably Ti if it’s for hunting/long range only.

Mostly bolt guns, with a little rapid fire AR stuff, and I only wanted to buy one can (maybe two)?
Whatever I got I'd get something with a rear thread in 1.375″x24 to give me a lot of mounting options down the road be it QD or direct thread.

I'd probably go with a Dead Air Nomad Ti or the Nomad LT if length/size and cost wasn't a concern. You will have to let the titanium Nomads cool after mag dumps but if you're not into that they're probably perfect for your use.

If cost was a concern I'd look into YHM options. Resonator/Resonator K will be impossible to beat for the price.

I don't buy Q products because KB and I just feel their products/marketing are lame.

Thunderbeast makes amazing cans long as you dont mind barrel length/caliber restrictions. They're also pricey.

OSS cans are pretty neat but if you're mostly shooting bolt guns a lot of their tech would be wasted.

for the .22, silencerco sparrow is working well for me. i run it on a pistol or a marlin S60.

for anything centerfire, i would only go with .30 cal can. the 1-2-5 db lower difference an actual .223 caliber can will make will not make any difference to your unprotected ears, and the report will sound exactly the same at a distance.

my first can was AA M4-2000 which is a .223 can. and i cant use it on any other rifle except an AR15, and now i have plenty of .30s. my only point is that a .223 can is pigeonholing you to just that one rifle, and it would be a pretty hefty .22 that could support a heavy centerfire can.

IMO, .30 is the best way to go, no matter what centerfire caliber your running, and if i could do it all over again, i woudlnt have picked the M4-2000.

Yes Nomad-L is a great choice for any centerfire up ro 300wm. Get a Mask for a rimfire can.
