I'm not mad. I just think it was a dumb move. Now that I heard about his wife perhaps it was a smart move on his part.

Besides, we taking all of Nick's guys. Lol.

and $12 million a year richer too. I'd be "retired city".. No need to add more CFB championships after that.

It was reported that Texas offered the same. I just mean that most college head coaches don't do well in the NFL. Wouldn't failing be more stressful than anything? Crap franchise.

With the number one overall pick, and 100 million Space. I’m with you, I don’t know why college guys would go to the pros. I think it’s just a project for him. Ego thing.

He can fail with no tarnish to his legacy as a college coach. If he took the Texas job, he would have had to take the major players at Ohio State and word is he didn't want to hurt their program since he is so invested in it. He also had concerns if his hard charging style would work with today's college player. Tom tried to copy him at Texas and you are reading the backlash of that right now with reports.

It may be a failure, but Urban is going to make a boat load of money, not tear apart the Ohio State program or his reputation , and not tarnish his legacy in college. Seems like a pretty good gamble. All while getting to live on the beach.

I still think urban ruffled Texas feathers just to help see Tom Herman out the door.

Probably from Urban side, but reading the post mortem stories on Herman and some I had heard behind closed doors he was done at Texas no matter what Urban said.

I don’t doubt it, but urban Meyer is a sanctimonious **** head… And I believe 100% he would just like to take some credit for Toms demise.

Edit:It’s probably a good thing I’m just learning the swear filter doesn’t get that one.

The Halletsville kid isn't going to pass RoJo up for carries when Texas needs tough yards.
You aren't wrong, but RoJo just seems like a battering ram. Will likely get better as he continues to learn the position I would think. Great mentality, but his career is gonna be short unless he makes some changes. He reminds me or Leroy Hoards quote

Sounds far from done at this juncture. They’re saying Lanning was offered but will stay at UGA.

They’re saying Lanning, Odom, and Arnett have interviewed.

I’m currently watching Denton Ryan. Sanders is a monster!

No, they’re saying the offer went out to the Georgia DC.

I’ve not heard a peep about a HS coach.

DC search is tough sledding. Texas banging on the SEC for a staff even though the conference is over rated. Keeping going. Ok cool. Hook em

So Lanning’s name hasn’t been mentioned with Texas, then a report he’s the leading candidate and then boom a raise to stay at Georgia. Sounds like his agent doing some work tonight!

It’s not a real coaching search unless agents use Texas to get a bunch of coaches raises.

The Morris kid released a “Top 3” that consists of Ags, Sooners and Trojans. I don’t know the OL situation of the other two, but the Ags could probably use a guy with his experience. Sounds like he underperformed a bit for the Vols, hampered by Covid quarantine and ankle injury in 2020? What’s his story? I assume he’d want to be in camp for the spring, wherever he transfers to?

Sark talked to Lanning, but he wasn’t offered yet. Jimmy Sexton, CAA doing work on getting Lanning a raise. A lot of the coaching search “sources” are agents.

These days a coach really isn’t “offered” until he accepts...unless he declines, then he’s not. (Am I doing it right, Dale? )

Nothing to see here with the DC’s not wanting the Texas job.

Sark and his high flying pedal to the metal offense will simply outscore everyone.

My two biggest concerns about the Sarkisian hire.....the defense and the fact that Saban owns his ex assistant coaches head to head.

Saban owns everybody, coaching tree or not. I wouldn’t worry about that one.

The commitment to a defense would be my only worry. If I was a DC, I would want a ball hogging, clock chewing O.

Unfortunately that style of O does not work anymore. I doubt Jimbo ever has a defense that can shut Alabama completely down. That just isn't possible today. I wish it was.

Targeting is a big reason for that. The middle of the field is wide open. They can't blow receivers up anymore.

Will they still play home-home against Bama, or just next year’s game? After that, it’d be a nice “problem” to have.
