160 Hornady FTX for a 308 bolt gun. Anybody done this before? I figured I might give it a try since I don't have a 30/30 anymore and the bullets are just taking up space.

Look at the hodgdon site and check out their "reduced loads" section. If you get that one scooting 2200-2400 fps, it should do real good.

No problem. I've used all kinds of bullets designed for the .30/30 in other .30 calibers rifles over the years.
