I had some hunters kill out and leave early on Saturday so after some light work around the ranch we decided to do some hunting of our own that evening. I've always wanted a tall, narrow, trashy buck and this one sure fits that description. I've had some cool trail cam pics of this deer and had seen him twice in person but never when it was a good time to hunt him. Made time on Saturday and got a shot right at dark. He busted me drawing on him at the feeder and headed for the brush, but stopped at about 25 yards right on the brush line and I let it rip. Shot hit his off-side shoulder and broke the arrow and it backed out making it look like poor penetration. I backed out for two hours but it wasn't needed. When we got back out to look he was stone dead about 60 yards from the shot. Perfect double lung, he was probably dead within seconds. My best buck ever, scored 244 1/8".
