I think its a geography/wife move. Momma likes Fl and Urban was ok we'll go if I can see how the nfl gig is... If it works out great, if not he'll get another real bad headache and go fishing

It was reported that Texas offered the same. I just mean that most college head coaches don't do well in the NFL. Wouldn't failing be more stressful than anything? Crap franchise.

He can fail with no tarnish to his legacy as a college coach. If he took the Texas job, he would have had to take the major players at Ohio State and word is he didn't want to hurt their program since he is so invested in it. He also had concerns if his hard charging style would work with today's college player. Tom tried to copy him at Texas and you are reading the backlash of that right now with reports.

It may be a failure, but Urban is going to make a boat load of money, not tear apart the Ohio State program or his reputation , and not tarnish his legacy in college. Seems like a pretty good gamble. All while getting to live on the beach.

Probably from Urban side, but reading the post mortem stories on Herman and some I had heard behind closed doors he was done at Texas no matter what Urban said.

Sounds far from done at this juncture. They’re saying Lanning was offered but will stay at UGA.

They’re saying Lanning, Odom, and Arnett have interviewed.

I’m currently watching Denton Ryan. Sanders is a monster!

It’s not a real coaching search unless agents use Texas to get a bunch of coaches raises.

The Morris kid released a “Top 3” that consists of Ags, Sooners and Trojans. I don’t know the OL situation of the other two, but the Ags could probably use a guy with his experience. Sounds like he underperformed a bit for the Vols, hampered by Covid quarantine and ankle injury in 2020? What’s his story? I assume he’d want to be in camp for the spring, wherever he transfers to?

My two biggest concerns about the Sarkisian hire.....the defense and the fact that Saban owns his ex assistant coaches head to head.

Saban owns everybody, coaching tree or not. I wouldn’t worry about that one.

The commitment to a defense would be my only worry. If I was a DC, I would want a ball hogging, clock chewing O.

Unfortunately that style of O does not work anymore. I doubt Jimbo ever has a defense that can shut Alabama completely down. That just isn't possible today. I wish it was.
