I saw the new thread and was thinking the same thing. Amazed the year seems to be going so fast, but glad it is.

Im ready. Can someone go fill a couple feeders and spent 30 minutes to 4 hours on a tractor for me? I despise mowing when fawns on running loose

Started the quest today to re locate this years #1 target. Don’t fully plan to capture images on stand site for awhile, but setting the stage NOW for later. Perfect staging area he used all last season (but I was tagged out) I cut trail I want them to use today and made a mock scrape. Soooo many trails at tree it’s comical. I will drop a tree next time out to 100% block them from getting S-SW of me. Will be a fairly long shot 8-16 yards

stand is up but I can run and fun a N wind also (might hang it anyway)

Typically don’t get him until youth weekend time frame. I got a feeling I know the area he’s in but I ain’t come up with a way in without blowing the whole place out, so as of now I’ll just have to wait.

Maybe, maybe not. Reckon it could be one that just "blew up" this year

I've been after one for 3 years now. He's been a 7, but dropped to a 6 last year. Figure he will be on the downhill side this year, but body wise, he's a big ole dude. Gonna slip in another stand location in the next month or so. Seen him only once last year and had no shot but I know now what scrapes he likes to hit and he does a lot in daytime hours.

Imma jump in wit y'all I hunt West La mostly. Started my public land scouting, saw 12 deer last Saturday mornin, a couple were young bucks. Hoping the white oaks produce this year. I saw them flowering in the spring and we didn't have any freezes to kill the flowers so my hopes are high. It was a tough early bow season last year with no feed trees to hunt.

Spent all weekend at the lease cleaning my river spot up. It’s an old camp that should be around 2 acres of food plot. I’m right on the edge of the riverbottom and 3 ridges that run into this plateau about a 1000 yards off the river. I’ll burn everything once it dries out. Next up i have a fiberglass tank I’m going to put on a 12’ platform. Deer are looking good at all our East texas spots. Posted a couple recent ones.

For you guys feeding protein, do you use a funnel/barrel type feeder or a trough type feeder? If you use both, which do you find the deer prefer?

For those using troughs, anyone have any basics schematics or design parameters?
