Previous to that, the ranch style beans factory was in East Fort worth off of 30. My granddad told me there used to be a prairie dog town there.

I played a football game in that area. I think that field was a prairie dog farm. Rough on the ankles.

My wife is the concession stand czar at our local high school. They buy Hormel and will go thru 6 gallons in a normal varsity game. They sell their Frito pies and chili dogs for $3.00 each and they make a killing. For what ever that is worth.

There is more blasphemy in this thread than in the whole Washinton DC. Canned chili? gimme a break! Beans in Chili? Something Beto would come up with. I'll be having homemade venison Texas Red chili Frito Pie for supper tonight. It will have chopped onion and grated cheddar on top and that's it! Except maybe one dem fresh Serrano peppers from my greenhouse.

HEB has a seasoning called “quick chili” it with a pound of ground beef and a little tomato sauce would be a good meat for frito pie

Used to be prairie dog towns all over Ft worth.
They are all gone now except the big one in Forest hill/ Everman.

Actually Smart ***** the thread title is Frito Pie, not Frito CHILI pie. Therefore since the dish I described is served on a bed of Fritos, it’s still Frito pie.

Man..I used Hormel last night,and I gotta say..It's just a step up from Wolf..Never again.Guess I'm gonna have to get some Chili gear from Blake,and do this the right way next time.

After looking at 3 pages of post it looks like Wolf brand chili is the most popular by far. I gonna go with the majority since it is the only canned chili we use.

They sell their Frito pies and chili dogs for $3.00 each and they make a killing. For what ever that is worth.
