No way I'm putting my kids in a jeep for their first vehicle. Not very safe. Go with a full size pickup of some sort.

Older Cheby and an LS engine swap seems to be a hot ticket right now for kids.
An LS Generation III LM4 truck engine will run forever and puts out 300 hp bone stock. Plenty of giddy up go for kids. Late model wrecking yards have them with tranny attached for cheap. You will need the ECM and a good electric full pump. You tube will show you how.

I have a 79' F250 4x4, 400, 4sp,.. i love that truck. I twisted the drive shaft, need to get one made. I bought it in 2000, was a fire dept truck.. i put a utility bed on it.. i think its time to retire the utility bed and swap for a decent flat bef, maybe a bale bed if i can find one used.. it runs good but is rusting out bad.
