Took me 9 months of off and on pain and one night in the hospital. Finally my GI Dr did a gallbladder function test. Got results met a surgeon had it out the next day. Recovery isn’t bad at all

Took 3 trips to the ER before they did a sonogram and found gall stones. The last time I literally crawled into the ER on my hands and knees because of the pain. It would last a few hours and then go away. A week later I had it taken out. No problems since. Well, except for the first 6 months or so afterward. When you felt "a twinge" like you needed to go poop, you better be headed that way, FAST. Thank me later for that piece of advice.

Go get you gall bladder checked by another DR. You got gall stones. Guaranteed.

This is almost exactly just like mine as well. Had it removed and the only problem is my “6 months” for that twinge has lasted 6 years so far. My BMs have totally changed since getting it removed.

Mine too. Pizza caused it three times in a row. I curled up in the fetal position on the bathroom floor. My wife finally made me go to the doc on the fourth time and they cut that sucker out. Still can’t eat really greasy crap or salad without bombing the toilet. But I am pain free now.

If the CT came back clean, then my next move would be a Nuclear Medicine test. Ask about a HIDA scan. Checks the function, maybe tell ya something different. If you have any questions, PM me. We do MRI, CT, US Nuclear Med, etc... I can give you some.more info if needed.

Yup, you got issues. Get a sonogram & HIDA scan of your gallbladder.

Ive had that pain since the 90s. Had every test under the sun including HIDA. Finally bout 5 years ago after id given up and after an awful attack they found stones and took out my galbladder. I was so happy that i wouldnt have to suffer dat pain again. Well scratch dat. I still have the same attacks. Could go a whole year between but they still occur

WebMD and other Google searches are no good for me, by either giving me vague answers or messing with my head and making me think of worst case situations. However, I'm having some sort of issue and I can't figure this thing out. I've been to my primary doctor, a GI specialist, had a CT scan done, and they're all inconclusive. Whatever it is, though, seems to affect me most around my upper right stomach just below my ribs, and I think I can feel some swelling there as well. The discomfort comes and goes, but today it's been more constant. Could this be a gallbadder inflamed or stones or something? No fever or vomiting; just discomfort.

Brother if you figure it out you let me know. I have the same symptoms I’ve had ultra sounds, x rays, CT scan HIDA scan and endoscopy and colonoscopy today with negative or inclusive results. It feels like a balloon is inflating in there. Not all the time but when it does it gets scary. I’m out of options and my drs are out of suggestions. Been to general, gastro and cardiovascular dr this year trying to figure it out. I’ll let you know if i hear anything

Had to have my gallbladder taken out about four years ago. I remember having some pain in the middle of my sternum—up high where your stomach sits—but nothing horrendous. No, for me, the most debilitating symptom was the nausea and vomiting. I’d feel okay if I had an empty stomach, but the minute I even SMELLED food, I’d turn green. (Turns out the digestion process starts the minute you detect the smell of food. This tells the gallbladder to dump the bile it’s been storing into the stomach in anticipation of being needed to digest food.)
Like you, I had several tests performed, including a CT, and all looked fine. It wasn’t until I got a HIDA scan that the problem became conclusive.
There are a number of other things that could be causing your pain including that amorphous idiopathic IBS. Another poster suggested getting an opinion from another GI doc. I agree. There’s an answer out there and somebody has it. Don’t stop until you get it!

Very little. One a week, maybe.

Wife went through a battery of tests including heart related tests. **** those are expensive on the cardiac ward![emoji2359]. They scanned her gall bladder. Doc said there was no sign of stones. GI doctor came in and did the Murphy’s sign gallbladder test on her after 3-4 days of other heart tests. He said your gall bladder is bad when she winced... needs to come out . Same Dr/surgeon that said gall bladder looked good on scans said her gall bladder was full of sludge and one large stone they didn’t see looking for numerous small ones when they removed it. She had an easy recovery and no issues with foods.

Literally just got mine removed Friday. Been having attacks for about three months. Got so bad went to ER and they said it’s coming out. They did ultrasound and CT at the Gastro and never saw stones until I went to the ER. It would double me over in pain at night. Last for three or so hours then subside. My stomach feels like I went a few rounds with Tyson but it’s getting better everyday.

They looked at me for 5 days and a “sludge test” finally showed them it was my gall bladder. Took it out the next morning. They did a sonogram and an MRI and couldn’t determine.

                            Good luck.

Make them do the die test, after a year of feeling like I was having a heart attack daily they sent me in. Gall bladder was working at 3% and immediately removed.

Thanks for all the advice. Today has been better than yesterday, which is the frustrating part because it just comes and goes. I'm more certain it's a gallbladder issue. I'm going to be more strict about my diet until I can get some specific answers.

With that said, do y'all have any advice in the meantime about diet or supplements?
