Seeing my family happy and smiling
Means my real job of husband and dad was done at least marginally well.
For me:
Working outdoors with my hands on projects on my property that I can complete and look at with satisfaction
Watching sunrises and sunsets over the trees with no man made noises
Seeing the variety of animals here expand and flourish
Making a long accurate cast and feeling the strike on the other end.
Making an accurate shot that is not a gimme.
Watching a blue norther turn the horizon dark then quickly pass over. Bring dry, cold air
Hitting a drive down the pipe past my partners although I’m always the oldest.
This reminds me of “if you ask me what I like about Texas”

Pretty simple things make me happy.
That’s a great list of things to be happy for.

I joined the cook team at a local cowboy church about 7 years ago. Once a month, we cook a Dutch oven style breakfast for what was then, about 80 people. This past Sunday, we had 580! I love being a part of this church.
I’ve been a Christian for about 45 years, but these last 7 years or so, I’ve grown to know, and love our Lord even more.
I love my little 10 acre “part of Texas” ranch. We got a small garden, lots of chickens, and a good dog.
Coffee early in the mornings on weekends.
Crispy bacon in the mornings is also kinda high on the list.
