……….gonna go on a non-venison diet ! I couldn’t seem to get a decent shot at a legal buck this season and didn’t. I had a shot at a doe or three but didn’t take them. Does are off limits after the Sunday following Thanksgiving in my county and the deer weren’t hitting the food plots, too many acorns. I haven’t shot my Encore .50 caliber in years so I borrowed my son’s CVA Wolf and got a shot at this young doe Sunday morning. After the smoke cleared she was right where I saw her when I squeezed the trigger. At least we won’t have venison withdrawals !
As an aside, I was impressed with the inexpensive CVA Wolf muzzleloader. At about 75/80 yards I hit her exactly where I aimed and the trigger is better than my Encore.
