Rain never let up, was a muddy mess all day but he got it done. Was a great spot and made an even better shot. 223 yds and he piled up about 30 yards from the initial hit. Made for a long but rewarding afternoon

Wow, that's awesome! Big congrats to you and your son. That is going to be some fantastic meat. I'm surprised he was out moving in the rain. My daughter and I were out there the weekend after Thanksgiving. We hunted hard all three days but didn't get anything. And, I'm sure you know this but Nilgai are the only exotics you're allowed to shoot at East Lake. There are some other exotics out there from the surrounding ranches but they're on the "no shoot" list for some reason.

We made it back home already. I forget how big these suckers can be, the back straps alone weighed 25 lbs each. Cant wait to get some on the smoker.

Hopefully the other few kids out there can find them. There were 4 other hunters that morning but by the time we left there was only 1 truck left in the parking lot. Guessing the rain ran them out.
