Default Covert Wireless Update

Bad timing forcefully pushing an update without user consent this close to opening day. WTH were they thinking? Slow as molasses in January now!

Anyone else having problems?

Default Covert Wireless Update

I set my app uploads to manual and have not done this yet. You are the third person to say it sucks ... not good for Covert. Iíll be keeping the older version until they work some bugs out.

Contacted covert this morning and told them about the 1) Notification staying on the app on the phones main screen when there are none 2) That you can't delete all selected photos 3) Work time is showing to be off, when it's actually on.....

Said they pushed it out this weekend and are currently working through the bugs, didn't give me a time frame but said it's being worked on.

Yep.

The update to the app is crap compared to the old format.
I can still run through it fine but really really realllyyyy preferred the old layout. Feel bad for my dad as he is not the most tech savvy and this new layout is going to be a big hurdle for him...

My app updated last night, no real problems so far. My time stamps are correct, and I kind of like how it has broken the pictures up by date. Only thing I've noticed is the picture count notification takes a little while to go away after viewing pictures, but I'm sure they'll get the bugs sorted out.

Go ahead and put your pitchforks away...

Yep, hate it. Mine got updated last evening. Sent them an email, got 1 response this morning. Then I sent another complaining about 2-3 other items. Not heard back yet. But whomever came up with the "enhancements", needs to be fired!!

Mother******************************** Covert app just updated itself anyway.... ....I specifically had it set to manual and it showed to be needing an update all morning. I had 4 other apps I updated early this am and left the Covert one alone. Then just now out of the blue...updated.

How in the hell can they do that? Mother ******************************************

I cant believe I am saying this but so far I like the old version is MUCH better.

- Requires much more navigating.
- No landscape mode.
- Only way to remove the arrow symbols off of each images is by manually pressing a button on every image.
- No longer shows a preview of recent pics next to each camera.
- Save image button does not work.
- Back button stops working way too often.

The only thing I do like so far is that it no longer bounces you to the incoming picture when you are scrolling through photos.

All this change and we still can't list our our cameras in the order we want?

I have two inactive cameras mixed in among my 4 active ones. I'd like to be able to list my cameras in the order I want from top to bottom and also have them auto fill my user ID when they require me to log back in due to signal loss or as in this case an update.

I am not a fan of having to click through several choices to get into the different 15-20 settings. It was nice being able to open up one settings page per camera and scroll to look everything over and be able to see/check the setting's status as you did. Now you have to go find each individual setting via series of 4-5 menu choices and then click until you find what you need to make a change. Also no more scanning over the settings real quick to make sure everything is right. I'd like to hear Covert's reasoning for this. It went from simple scrolling and looking to very click heavy.

Nice. I just ordered a new Covert last night after reading how great they are on here.

I did not order the one you could remotely change the settings. I ordered the E 1.

Maybe I should have stuck with Snyper.

Seriously though they are working some things out looks like. It's growing on me but I'll know more when I get into this evening when I have 75-100 pics come though from 4 cameras. If you can't change settings remotely on your economical Covert then one of my major gripes about the update right now is irrelevant for you... And honestly it's probably a lot of doing one thing for almost 3 years then they side swipe you with change. If this is your first one with them then you won't have anything to compare it too and biatch like us...

As long as it sends pics and they are easily retrievable all is good. I am at the lease enough to change settings if need be.

Spoke to 3 different people at covert about it today off and on. They are working out bugs, but have probably lost me as a customer. Not because of the app situation, but because they are wanting $307.99 for me to upgrade my 2016 camera. That’s more than I can find them online at different places!!! Guess I will be trying a different company which really stinks because I’ve had great luck with covert and have had them for somewhere around 5 years. I miss the good ol’ days of sending in your old camera with a check for $50 and they’d send you a new one.

That happened to me. I turned off my phone then back on and it worked. I bought two of the new Spypoint Link-Micros and are testing them at my house right now. Very pleased with them so far, but that's for another thread so all of the haters can chime in.

They were selling the code blacks and the blackhawks for $275 on their own website. The code blacks are now sold out, but the blackhawks are still available for $275.... If they can do that, you'd think they'd at least make it $275 to trade in....

You would think, but the bad thing is I called them around a month and a half ago and was quoted a trade in of around $200 if my memory is right. Wish I would have gotten that in an email or something, but have no way to prove it. I talked to 2 people on the phone and another on their chat about it and all said the same thing. $307.99!!

FYI - the Blackhawks being Verizon may give you a better signal than AT&T depending on where you are. But.... the Verizon plan is $4-5 more a month and $2 more for adding additional cams vs AT&T plan

You would think, but the bad thing is I called them around a month and a half ago and was quoted a trade in of around $200 if my memory is right. Wish I would have gotten that in an email or something, but have no way to prove it. I talked to 2 people on the phone and another on their chat about it and all said the same thing. $307.99!!

Should have taken advantage of it in this spring like most of us did on TBH. $200 for Ď16s and $175 for Ď17s.... both to your door prices. They did tell us it was for a limited time. I guess that time ran out.
