Jaw bone age help

Thought this guy was fairly mature…. After looking at his teeth I am not as sure.

Wheeler county…. Panhandle deer… native browse- corn, some wheat/triticale fields

Tooth wear definitely shows some age on them. From those pics I wouldnt argue with 5 or 6. A pic of the tops of the teeth would help somewhat. Of course most agree that aging by tooth wear is very accurate. Nice buck!!

Teeth show me mature. Picture mature . Look at where the gum line is. Imagine the gums at that line. They are all blunted off and shorter. Nice deer congrats!

Soooo...what are you questioning? TC pic shows a very mature deer. Teeth show a very mature deer. I'd say 6+ off that pic, and I don't give two squats what the teeth show. But by the "book" those teeth are old too.

To Age Strictly by teeth is like saying shoot all spikes. It’s just not accurate, and some people will never change their mind.
