    Mayhaw Madness

Recently a co-worker at another plant, who also hunts East Texas highly endorsed Mayhaw Madness as an attractant. I've used others in the past, with mixed results, such as Acorn Rage, BB2, and Deer Cane to name a few. I've even used Koolaid mix.

I don't think I've ever seen anything work so well as an all out mammal repellant as this though. Over the course of a weekend I put out 2 bags at my 2 spots and at a hog trap. That was maybe 2 months ago. Before then, there weren't a lot of deer; but some. They were even going into my 32" tall feeder pens' yes in East Texas. As well as into my round hog trap with 48" tall cattle panels. Since that weekend there hasn't been hardly an animal day or night. Just fat squirrels and birds eating the corn.

Out of a desire to punish myself a little more I tried out the last bag of it this week. I hand spread some corn too. Nothing touched the Mayhaw Madness, or the corn that was mixed into it. Didn't even root around it. The corn that wasn't near it was mostly gone. With luck there'll be a little action in 2 weeks.

Same here. Especially with Rice Bran which i think is in Acorn Rage. It gets that moldy crust on the surface and nothing will even sniff it.

They sell a lot of it at a feed store north of Deweyville on Hey 87 in the area they call the Pocket. Kinda expensive something like $22 for a 4lb sack. When I found out the price I decided just to stick with corn.

It's a great bee attractant. I hunt right north of the store and bought a bag to try it out. My deer and hogs could care less but the bees would not leave it alone. My buddy south of me swears by it.

I agree that Mayhaws are for jelly or jam.
