Yep. Tastes like dove maybe a little tougher. The skin is definitely tougher to break through with your thumb when cleaning them

Few on the bottom of pic. Trying not to post giant pics from tapatalk in turn makes them pretty blurry ha

Those “city birds” actually will fly out every morning into the country to feed. I’ve hunted them as far as 30 miles from the Lubbock city limits in the Spring when there aren’t a lot of grain fields still available. There can be as many as 200 in a flock, and about a 2 min lag time between flocks showing up to the field. Just have to follow their flight lines to find the feed field. I’ve seen some funky looking birds lol

Well yes and no in my opinion, if you’re talking about pigeons in the city they probably eat a lot more crap than free range chickens on someone’s property. Just my 2¢

In Steve Rinella’s book “The Scavenger’s Guide to Haute Cuisine”, he talks a lot about pigeons, and even raises some. He was interested in squab, which is just a pigeon that is too young to fly yet. He gave it rave reviews, it’s always sounded interesting to me.

Wow! That sounds pretty dang good to me. Might have to give it a try. I'm all for a larger dove popper! Thanks for all the responses guys. You've convinced me.

I didn’t think it was bad at all and would eat them again. Twice the size of dove didn’t taste really any difference. Hardest part is actually hunting them as they are smarter then doves. Have to shoot the scout bird otherwise hard to get rest of flock.

I eat it all, I’ve even eaten coots and they tasted just like ducks.

They eat good. City or free ranging.
