David, those are some great shots. Excellent capture with the open mouth, you don't see that too often.

Nitro, haven't heard anything about culverts being installed for them.

For the experts...
Any suggestions on how I could of made the best of the shot? I know it is lacking in detail. I was using a 17-55 f/2.8 (Thanks Casey!) and took the shot early around 7am.
Settings at:
f/3.5
1/250 sec.
ISO-100
55mm (got as close as I could, both pics are cropped)

Still learning here, so your input is much appreciated. Thanks again

They can be a little trick to photograph due to how well they blend into their surroundings. I think I like your second one better.
