I will be needing a "newer truck" to me here in the next few years but there is no way on God's green earth that I will be buying new when that time comes. Times are just a crazy mess right now |

The supply stopped because of Covid but the demand was still there so good luck getting a "good deal" A friend in the biz said probably wait about a year until the supply has been reestablished

Yep, truck prices are ridiculous. Same brand new Platinum F150 i bought new in 2014 for $42k is now pushing $75k-$80k. I hate government interference but they need to be regulated lol! A huge depreciating asset like a truck should not be 25% of the value of your home.

Have a friend that bought an 18’ super duty, new. Drove it 46,000 miles and sold it for more than he paid for it. So the depreciation ain’t what it was (on trucks anyway) look at clean used market.... save 2k on a few year old truck, no thanks Capitalism works better without any government involvement |

every quarter they adjust their prices for new customers. If you have signed a build contract with them then the price is locked. as stated above, unless you add or change things. Last edited by forced-2-work; 03-02-2021 at 09:17 AM. |

covid set the car manufacturers way back which has led to a very tight used market. manufacturers are still short key components and i've been told they will manufacture 20% fewer vehicles this year. The market will get even tighter so if you can wait then i'd suggest you do so.

We used Tilson in Boerne. Great group there. In our house for two years now and love it Tilson has great after the close follow up to fix anything missed in construction and their overall building program and cost significantly beat any of the local competition

I bought a 2020 Chevy last year. I traded it in to get 4x4 and they gave me what I paid for it a year ago on my trade in.

There’s a huge shortage of semiconductors and it’s affecting the car manufacturers. So they say. Guess where the semiconductors are made? Chi Na
Funny how everything goes back to China. |

this COVID pricing is crazy.. i had requested a bid on a Pole Barn, back July 2020, more or less it was $14000
now the same size is $19500.. because if i waited until march, the prices of metal were going up almost 15%, went into HD, to see wire since i will be running all the electric, and the lady was changing prices, some spools went up at least $75. dls. its crazy,, i was looking for a new Chevy Trail Boss, but not anymore, |

I seriously doubt anyone's price is locked quarterly right now. Our company's lumber pricing had been negotiated quarterly through a group buy until the last year. Now things are getting re-adjusted monthly. The market is just too volatile right now.

I always buy “work truck” package trucks and am probably due a new one, but even those packages are now in the mid $40k range. Other than high miles and age, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with trucks I have, so I’ve decided to keep driving what I have.
For me, occasional minor repair is cheaper than having a monthly truck note. |

If you think this is ridiculous you should see the insane increase in wakeboard/wakesurf boats. Some of these boats, not yachts, no bathroom, no sleeping quarters are running $250,000 - $280,00. These are ski boats that in 2005 cost $50k.

Exactly. Financing 100% of the truck and over 84 months allows them to do it. We’ve all heard the “how much do you want your monthly payment to be” sales pitch. The number of people I know that make $50-60k a year and drive Lariats, Platinums, and Raptors is terrifying. They can scrounge by to afford the payment, but definitely cannot afford the truck.
I don’t expect it to change anytime soon. |
