Non TBH I would say Chris with Slab Syndicate in Lubbock. He ties a great looking jig. He has a Facebook page and will open it up to orders then shut down to catch up.

He's right in the middle of the best fishing in the world, being in Lubbock. All he has to do is drive 300 miles in any direction and he can be in a great lake for fishing. LOL

I wouldn't have picked there if the fishing was lousy! I have a buddy from Amarillo that used to say he was in the heart of good fishing! 500 miles in any direction! He used to laugh at me driving that far to hunt geese and then would tell me about coming to Fork every year to chase bass!

Made reservations for Darbonne yesterday. Gotta line something up at Grenada next! Making that one this year for sure! Last duck trip of the year this weekend then fishing 4 days next week!

I'll be kill-n ducks this weekend and next. It's my only alternative for meat besides chicken, Turkey, and river/lake fish, at this point. That is, unless I kill a pig somewhere.

I had my new buddy Johnathon Nix ( Big Red of You Tube fame) out on my other lake today.
The wind is the only thing that kept it from being a perfect day.
We found lots of fish and they were willing to bite.
We caught them in deep water on hand tied jigs.

Thanks to my buddy Buff for saving the day! My new battery crapped out and I haven’t bought another spare yet so we were without graphs this morning. Instead of running back to town Marty said come get one of his old ones and see if that worked. I figured it would and if did. The crappie weren’t so thankful though! They took a beating in fairly short order! Gotta work a couple days then back on the fish!!

Felt good to be back in the saddle again! They were where they should be this time of the year. Stuck 50 in the cooler pretty quick Friday and they had a couple good sized trash fish as well. One 8 pound bass on 1/8oz crappie jig was pretty cool! Wind was horrible this weekend. Had a good area to get out of the waves but not the wind and they threw in the towel after 3.5 hours with 25 in the cooler. I'm glad January is over. That was a brutal month for weather.

2 pounder Tuesday! Least a couple anyhow. Friday trip moved to Monday and I didn’t want to mess up and work all week so I took a few hours and ran to a lake I haven’t been on in a while. Probably had 40 in 4 hours. Not relating to anything. All just roaming and had to wake most of em up!!

Beats working for sure!!

Hard to say! I’ve caught em in august in 3’ of water before but I couldn’t imagine fly fishing for em. I guess cast a jig out and let it sink through em but then are you really fly fishing swimming a jig through fish 10-20’ deep??

Sitting here thinking I’ve been on the water 9 times this year and have had 27 fish over 2 pounds. Last year at this time I bet I was close to 3x that. I know for a fact as had one day with 13 2 pounders already. Be ready to go back to work tomrrow! I’m tired!!

I’m in a quandary myself this week. Planned on fishing Friday through Sunday and then decided on just fishing Friday with fhe weather and now the current forecast I’m not sure I wanna go Friday either! Gonna screw around and work all week!

Registration is open for the crappie expo invitationals. 50 teams will be selected from these 2 tourneys based on finish in the 2 events. Table rock and texoma. Pretty good lineup for folks in the central states! Shreveport is gonna be fun! Excited about that one already!

I can't believe the weather could shut down Mr. Crappie! Heck, if you plan on going Tuesday or Wednesday, you could try your hand at ice fishing

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I’ve been on the water! Tourney sat got cancelled and I rescheduled my trip tomorrow cause I don’t have any ice fishing gear! I heard between 33 and 36 Sunday and back to low to mid 40's yesterday. Bite will improve as it warms up and they come out of shock! Good thing them slabs are tough! If they were ocean perch they might all be washed up on the shore!

Even got Buff over here! He might not talk to me anymore after this! These are some spooky picky fish in D’Arbonne for sure but it beats work!!
