Thoughts on score - found dead

Found this guy dead on our new place. Just got him cleaned up. Haven't put a tape to him yet. Any guesses on score?

I am not quite sure on the score with everything he has going on, but what a great buck with as much character as you could ask for. Sad to find any deer dead but especially one as unique as he is.

Just a guess, but I would say somewhere in the mid 70's maybe? All that trash adds up quickly.

Man that is a tough one to find dead. I guess I would have to agree above, 170+. Once you start getting stickers and split tines and all, I suck at scoring.

3 based on jaw. But his diet was pretty soft so probably 4.

Good grief it is painful to see one that nice dead before their prime!!!

Is that remnant velvet on his left side? If so, any issues with anthrax or EHD known in the area?

Yes velvet. He died while shedding...literally. head still hanging in the tree...carcus under the tree. Antlers were locked into some limbs similar to when bucks get locked up fighting.
