You are in some neat terrain...love driving that stretch where it's actually not FLAT in deep south tx. We got some little rolling hilly stuff on ours in Starr, but that area from Thompson to 16 is pretty cool. I bet some areas of your place has had some serious washouts.

That steep gully on 3073 right off 649 heading back to Hebbrronville is dangerous...whatever you do, don't gun it to where it feels like a rollercoaster. At least not towing a trailer.

Funny you mention that spot. About 10 years back I was driving to a location on the Lopez ranch and saw two huge bucks locked up just before the dip. Too busy watching them and not the road, I took that dip at 70 mph. Didn't catch myself till the pick up went out from under me. Crap scared the heck out of me. Still like to point something out just prior to getting to it to my wife and watch her squirm as we descend down it

Deer just are moving very much in
Webb County. So much green stuff they donít need or move far. Bucks are trying to pack on weight before rut. One of our guys son tagged a big 7-1/2 yr old 12 pt this morning. 174-6/8.

Like many others have posted, our ranch is so green it's ridiculous! Our biologist and I flew our pasture Saturday mid-day... It is unbelievable how that Buffle grass can hide deer!! We saw some good bucks to so I was pretty excited when we got done... I was pleasantly surprised. A large portion of our pasture is strip plowed and planted in Bufflegrass with the remaining strips still undisturbed brush... I'm pretty pumped now, but I know hunting these bruisers will be tough this year! I made a sit Saturday evening to try to shoot a doe with my bow and had three good shooters mess around my feeder for close to 2 hours and ran completely out of daylight trying to get a shot... Never released an arra... Thanksgiving week will be a meat hunt for us... we gotta knock down some does!!

alot of that terrain is near my lease. It's crazy how it goes from the red dirt to big flat top mesas, rolling hills, then down into mesquite and brush flats.

This is on the north side of the place.

Love the terrain out there Kyle. We have some rolling mesas also. Kinda weird seeing deer feed in a sendero 50 yards away then drop into a dip and next time you see them there over 200 and above you in the same sendero. Out here now going to give it a shot. It's brisk this morning.
