Bullet Tajectory - Shorter Distance

May sound crazy, but it all depends if your zero is in the rise or fall of the bullets arc. I sighted a .223 in at 30ish yards to get on paper. Was dead on at 30,but 6" low at 100. Sighted in at 100, then shot again at 30. Still dead on.

I shoot the same round and my gun is 2 1/2” High at 100 yards. My wife shot buck week of thanksgiving at 25 yards and hit exactly where she was aiming.

At that distance I’m not sure what the concern is.

Yeah, I shoot the same round out of a Browning A Bolt.

Sighted in 2” high at 100 yards, I hold it dead on from close out to 200.

Depends on how high your center of scope from center line of bore is. I bet you going to be low at 40 .

This. And lower still at ranges closer than 40.

Your scope is mounted above your barrel. Your bullet is actually traveling up until it crests.

Choot it at 50 y and measure...

Doesn’t matter, whatever you shoot is dead! My 25 is 1” high @ 100, so anything inside of 200 yds, I just hold it on them and they fall over!

I sight all my rifles in at 25 yards, I don’t give a poot about an inch here or there at 100 or 200 yards, kill zone is the size of a pie plate
