If I follow I say no.The plane isn’t moving and wind won’t give it lift. That’s the answer that makes sense in my head.

Jet propulsion is going to push the fuselage forward regardless of what the wheels or belt does.

No more chance than you can run off a treadmill if it goes as fast as you can run. IMO, ‘cause I don’t know !

The wheels on a jet are not driven like with a car. The jet engines will move it forward regardless of what the wheels are doing.

                This is my thought also.

I don’t see the “trick” here. The answer is obviously no.

The plane would still move forward until the wings created enough lift for it to take off but the wheels would never turn since the treadmill would be matching their speed but in the opposite direction…the wheels not turning would have no effect on the plane taking off.

Maybe the plane would take off just a smidge sooner because none of the energy/thrust put out by the engines would be wasted energy put into spinning the wheels against the ground while getting the plane up to speed.

This is why all STEM questions should be banned from TBH or, at the very least, given their own forum. Some of you don’t have enough hair left…

It’ll take off just like normal.
