This buck just showed up this week. What would you say he scores? Not that it matters! Should make P&Y if I can get him with bow.

138" - short brows keep him out of the 140's

If he is a large bodied South Tx buck I could see him being higher than that though, so either way I would agree that he will be a P&Y if you can get an arrow into him

Great buck!!

Make sure you measured four circumference measurements on each side. A lot of hunters think 8 points only get three measurements on each side.

Not to hijack, but is that right? What are the four points of measurement for circumference? I would have been in the crowd of hunters only giving 3.

Also great buck!!!

Between burr and g1, g1 and g2, between g2 and g3, and if it’s an 8, it’s the halfway point between g3 and tip of main beam for the last one.

yeah mass gets 4 measurements per side. Now this is where things get interesting. OP is talking about P&Y which has slightly different rules than B&C for mass. B&C never anticipated anything less than an 8 could make minimums so they are silent on anything less than an eight point; whereas P&Y states that if there is less than a G3 on a side, then you get the base twice to make the four measurements. P&Y had to account for potential 6 and 7 points making minimum.
This has led to some interesting campfire debates with my buddies, especially for the score on a spike
